I am bored ... (mice away, cat will play)

I have had great tit-bits from the site at diff. times;

- Oxalic for teak .... magic !
- Toothpaste for reparing screen and canopy window glazing ... resounding success (also for chartplotter screens ref. earlier post)
- Ceramic Top oven cleaner for gelcoat ... magic and for those heavier stained areas Jif oven cleaner
- Vanish for cleaning non-slip decks ... reasonably succesfull
- Sugar spinkled on new paint, washed away in hot water after paint dry ... great for non slip areas (especially on moorings)
- Candle Wax for zippers .... okay, but I prefer lip salve or a silicon stick we use to stop out car door locks/- rubber seams from freezing come winter
- Lanolin ..... great for outdrives, gaiters, hydraulics, transom fittings, bow thruster tunnels, etc but not for props.

Can I have more helpful hints please (not derogatory or sexual mind)
 
1" of bleach 1" of washing up liquid in a fary liquid botte or similar - topped up with water - wipe onto old varnished surfaces with an old towel - rub in.. leave half an our - wipe with wet towel then dry - super..

Vineger for cleaning windows - use with non glossy newspaper.

Teak oil for protecting tools and electrical connections

Oxalic acid for cleaning stainless steel

De Icer (For car windscreens) for cleaning electrical equipment and laptop / plotter etc screens !.. excellent

Autoglym car polish (We bought a five ltr tin for 25 squids) for polishing stainless and gelcoat - does not leave white marks on surrounds or teak trims etc and is ismply the best imho - contains uv inhibitors too.

Acetone for general grp cleaning

When using oxalic acid for teak cleaning, use borax solution to neautralise it !.

Teak oil can be varnished over for a beautiful finish - but only use Tung oil - not the cheaper types.
