Never bought a boat from them, but friendly with their sales director and a few sales staff.
Newly refurbished Racecourse marina is excellent, and they seem to be doing very well. I can't believe a company can continue to prosper unless they are doing something right.
Don't seem to know much about a boat they're brokering - no paperwork on file - no idea of engine hours etc. Maybe down to the owner but even so it's not inspiring me with confidence.
We bought our boat from their Chertsey office, boat was on brokerage on site, and found them ok to deal with helping to sort a few pre purchase issues
The boat had one owner from new but no service records to speak of. Not the broker's fault if the owner didn't or couldn't produce them , I know TBS did ask on numerous occasions
We had the original invoice and builder's certificate and a few receipts from a marine engineering company
The on site mechanic was great, very helpful, as was the crane man.
The crane was operated by the marina and not TBS and the lift was nearly twice as much as I would pay in Bristol or Cardiff, I booked the lift myself with the marina as TBS charged a handling fee to do it for me, I guess everyone has to earn a living but I was a bit put off by that
