Timing marks for fuel injection pump, BMC 2.2 diesel?

It will be hiding where you can't reach :) Be ready to catch bits which might fall out as the shaft comes free.

It's out, and, as far as I can tell, no bits in the bilge.

And ..... ahem ..... shuffle, shuffle ..... there are, of course, 3 studs that hold it, as any fool knows.

Hmmmm ......... no sign of a torque bar, though. How worried do I need to be about that?

If its not in the engine end, don't worry about it, these older pumps may well have not had one fitted.

Glad you found #3 !

Are you taking the injectors and the pump to a diesel service place to get them all sorted in one go?

Thanks again, Boater Sam.

I'm open to persuasion about the injectors.

The engine started easily, and ran perfectly three weeks ago today.

So, if they find fault/s with the injection pump, maybe the injectors are ok: does that sound logical, or just hopelessly optimistic?
