Timer Swtich

I bought one of these a few weeks in the states

It is a timer for a fish livewell that is designed to cycle the pump on and off for a pre-determined period eg 1 min on 5 min off.

Problem is it wouldn't work in any mode other than always on, then I took it apart to investigate and now it definitely doesnt work...

So anyone know where I can get something similar here in the UK or any ideas on some other device that would use it and I could butcher.

If it's mackerel that you are hoping to keep alive,keep the pump running constantly, and even then some will go belly up.
