Timely reminder; Three Men in Another Boat:

A few laughs and a boat to drool over. Will definitely try to see tommorows . /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

1/ the boat was already in London therefore already been though the barrier
2/ no pilot req for the barrier
3/ the aircraft fly-by = MCA advertising
4/ leaving Dover with a gale forecast with novice crew

all 4 starters
a total waste of a golden opportunity

it was simply great to see some sailing on the telly; just what was needed in darkest coldest January! No it wasn't highbrow stuff granted - but a better use of airtime than that ghastly dancing programme that has (thankfully) now finished!

Well, I'm glad I wasn't the only one to like it! Laughed out VERY loudly in some places - you know, that sort of oh dear been there done that hollow sort of laughter, with a light cringe...

I liked it. And I very much enjoyed his book too.
Sneaking off to the apartment then calling them on the radio was a classic ... misuse of the radio? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Looking forward to tomorrow's program.

I confess to know nothing about sailing.
I loved the boat
But I thought the programme was awful.

got to entertain or no one will watch it, loved the boat seriously crashing about in the sea, & there was the bearded one STOOD UP inside, making tea. !! dream on.
But it does help people to understand what we do, they otherwise they think we are mad.

Did you miss using profane language over VHF and using a a marine radio whilst on land? Maybe like me you were enjoying a good romp in a boat like most of us and chose to ignore the bits added to entertain the less boaty types?

Certainly better than the footie, and that gruesome 'VicDib' stuff last night.....

The boat is a darn sight easier on the eye than Pop Princess Kylie in a borrowed dress ( Jools Holland ) - at least Undina's sails fit!

....Back to the bar.

The creek where Griff was seen in a boatyard, and standing reminiscing about his father's boat, was Oare Creek. The pub with the daft notices outside the door is the Shipwrights Arms at the junction of Oare and Faversham Creek (there are even more ludicrous notices inside). The pub has the most negative and miserable landlord in the world.
The 3 of them did no passage sailing, there was a delivery crew. All smoke and mirrors.

Loved the program, as has been said it was not about sailing more about entertainment.
I liked the, don't worry you'll learn as we go along style

Now you've spoiled it.. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

No offence Pete_Cooper, but when the program started I was mistaking Rory for you, there is a strong resemblance. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Enjoyed the program too.
The quietest salesman I have ever seen.
