Not just you. I suspect Dan has disabled the thread in some way. Perhaps they don't take kindly to constructive criticism at IPC Towers?

I don't normally get involved in forum politics but if you wanted to tackle this then just post a lot of irrelevant responses to the pinned posts. I agree that if we really wanted these they'd stay at the top they would do so without the need for pins.

In my views the forums are a place to find useful information and have a bit of a laugh - neither of the 2 posts are remotely useful or funny - sorry Dan/Snooks but it's true!

There are some very helpful and experienced sailors on here (and some complete eegits!) who make the forum what it is, irrelevant pinning by mods is simply a distraction from this.

If IPC want to do something useful and pin it - then seeking feedback from us regular viewers on why we use the forums and how they could be improved would be worth pinning.

Just my tuppence worth!
 
I fully agree. Sadly i suspect rocky mite hav chosen anothr career, and perhaps made that choice some years ago-because he wrote tight prose and (mainly) cos he sed "tuppence" which dates him/her at over 50. I do hope i'm wrong (again)
 
I heartily approve of the sticky posts. They are a brilliant contribution to the board and entertaining and useful to read.

What on earth is the problem with them - It's just 2 posts, some fora I'm on have loads of stickies. Nice work Snooks, ignore the whingers.
 
If you have your option set to most recent post or whatever it is the stickies that appear above them and offend my sense of correctness.
I want to see the most recent post at the top, not some toss that some moderator thought was a wheeze.

I'm not after world domination, I'm just doing my job of promoting the electronic content of Yachting Monthly. Who, unless you have forgotten in all this stickycentric outrage, are the hosts of this forum.

Don't worry Snooks, you aren't the only ones who think all the whingers are miserable, and the personal comments against you are completely uncalled for and untrue!

I come to these forums for some light-hearted banter. Most of the members here are retired or professionals who come here in their free time; As boats are quite expensive and usually involve some kind of income, we can safely assume most of the members here are over 10 years old, maybe they should start acting like it... /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

To be fair Graham and I only moderate when Dan or Louise is away or cant get access (weekend etc) if we did not do it between us the place would be full of tits, arse and motorbike crashes on a daily basis...

And I would never abuse my power as I am always right and always in charge.....
