As per the title really, it’s time for new saloon and galley stair carpets. The old are felt backed something or other with whipped edges in a coconut colour, new when I purchased the boat but the guy that arranged them has retired so I’m now left to my own devices. Only reason for changing is due to them shrinking by about 1 1/2” around all the edges, presumably due to heat and or light?

What should I be looking at to do the inside of my Fairline? Happy to pay a small fortune for something suitable that looks the part and will last :nonchalance: They need to be removeable to access engines occasionally.

Carpet Right laughed me out the shop lol as soon as I mentioned boats.

I’m happy to cut and dry fit and send to a local whipper but not sure on my options.

We went to an independent carpet shop in Plymouth (where the boat is) chose a remnant, took in our carpets as patterns and they cut and bound them for us.

What’s the forum’s preferred method for attaching carpet to the floor so it doesn’t slip but still comes off easy to access removable floor panels?
