Well it might be close to Lulworth cove. But I only ever see it from the other end, so not fair really.

Until you said it was reversed I thought of Percé, in Québec. Sailed there some years ago. It was a beautiful warm day in autumn, but the water was freezing (hence lack of bods on the sands). There was some speculation about dinghying through the arch. We sailed out to Bonadventure, an island a couple of miles offshore, a fascinating place with a huge gannet colony.

Aegean somewhere?

Yes, could be, in Port Campbell NP, Queensland, the same thought occured to me following Snowleopard's clue to the South Wales guess. But the photo wouldn't be reversed if so, and it's not a sailing area. (Maybe with a shallow draft cat?)

steve_n has it.
as i said it needs turning round like this...

the story goes that there was an inner arch connecting the stacks to the shore but in about 1991 it collapsed. there was a couple stranded on the remaining section and they had to be lifted off by helicopter. the assembled press were surprised that the 'heroes' shot through without waiting to be interviewed. the story finally emerged that they were away on a romantic weekend but not with their respective spouses.
