Hi Roger, in the book and on the chartlet print-out, the longitude is given as 1 degree, 23 minutes, point 56 E.
But this appears to disagree with the chartlet which has it at 1 degree, 24 minutes, point 2 E.
Unless I am seeing things, which is quite possible.
Which shall I aim for tomorrow? many thanks

Frankly there is plenty of room so you can adjust the waypoint to suit your preference. I am very happy with the soundings in that chartlet and that is a very stable. The reference 1.24'200E was only used in 2012 after the survey and rather oddly (of me) wasn't using Wpt 32! I had been using 1.23'56E as Wpt 32 in the First Edition and I have kept that in the Second Edition so why I used the Wpt as unnumbered and in a slightly different place is a bit odd. I can only admit being 'odd'! As I said at the begin, there is plenty of safe room. (Thinks - why didn't I use Wpt 32 in 2012?:confused::confused: Perhaps someone - like a politician or something like that - can provide a rational explanation!)

No, no. I know why. It gets worse. Oh dear:

1. When I did the last survey in 2012, the chartlet did not extend far enough north to include Wpt 32. So I placed an unnumbered wpt with Longtitude at 1.24.200E and I used a Latitude of 51.41'70N within the survey area. So that is why it was like that. Wpt 32 could of course still work well.

2. But, no, but, no, groan. The chartlet you have referenced is using 6 of one and half a douzen of another: 51.41'70N, 001.23'56E: i.e half of the unnumbered wpt and half of wpt 32! Whilst I don't use that on the web site, I think I used the early (uncorrected) draft in the email update. Ugh. Sorry.

Thanks for the clarification, Post #3, Paragraph 1 is exactly what I have just put in my GPS as an educated guess, so not far off..
I can see there is a decent gap anyway, sorry to be so finicky!
If there was less info, or less recent soundings, I wouldn't have any tiny details to quibble about anyway, I'd just brace myself and cross the sands with fingers crossed, eyes shut and cheeks clenched :dread:
