Hi
Can anyone help I am trying to replace two rubber stops that prevent the tiller bumping on each side of the slot where the tiller passes through the transom they are the same size as door stops but do not have a hole through the centre, they are fitted to the by means of a separate rubber part fixed to the boat with a screw, and shaped to present an inverted cone which the rubber stop fits over

Welcome to Scuttlebutt. Afraid I cannot help you other than to suggest that you try the PBO Reader to Reader Forum where they're much more practical and sensible. They're a' daft here.

;-)

as sgeir says, you'll get more sense out of PBO.

however, you'll probably find an answer if you take the old one to a motor factor. it sounds a bit like a suspension bump stop.

It sounds like a two part rubber door stop to me. I had one in a previous house. A small rubber piece screws to the floor/wall and the larger rubber "stop" fits over this, usually with the help of some washing up liquid as a lubricant! The result is a smooth rubber cylinder with no apparent fixing.

Try a DIY store or your local hardware shop or builders' merchant.
