I'm looking for a new tiller end fitting.
The metal fitting that joins the rudder to the tiller. Normally chromed brass or stainless steel. Mine is homemade and has a little movement between the square ruddder stock and the fitting that drops onto it.Does anyone know where I can obtain one please?

Sorry no photo but it's nothing special just the fitting screwed to the tiller that drops over the square top of the rudder bar. The boat is a Tomahawk and the same fitting is on many boats. I just can't see one in any catalogues. Thanks.
 
I once had a Tomahawk which developed this slack fit. I seem to remember that I reduced the play by fitting brass shim of suitable thickness in the squared joint. I'd be surprised if new fittings were readily obtainable.
 
Thanks for the suggestion,I'm considering a small shim to take up play. The fitting I have discovered according to Davey's catalogue is called a Tiller fitting !!!. Why do I complicate matters? I have made a really nice new laminated tiller and I thought a new tiller fitting would show it off.

Or get both stock and head drilled out to take a bolt to stop it moving ?

My head is similar but has different problem - Searider Yachts decided the head should have an offset tiller to rudder angle. I am in process of recutting head to remove the offset.

Any good stainless steel fabricator can make one of these heads ...
