We have a very nice laminate tiller on Calandra - longer than standard for a Centaur I suspect. It had a sort of waterproof cover - a nylony thing - which has developed a rip at the end and needs replacing. I have tried without success to get a similar material for Mrs Dougie to sew. Does anyone know of a firm which either sells such material or could make the cover up if I sent the dimensions?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks for the advice. Pointnorth looks a runner. Without wishing to sound cheeky - Calandra may be modest, but she deserves something a bit more elegant than an old carpet!!!!!!!

Cheers everyone.

I note you are in Scotland. I got an offcut for just this job from The Sailloft at Port Edgar, South Queensferry. Cost a couple of £s and an hour on the sewing machine.

I used to make mine out of the same cloth used for the dodgers, winchcovers, sprayhood etc. not sure whether 'sloop' is east or west coast Scotland, but Sally in jessail, Ardrossan will sell give/you offcut (depending on amount req'd/availability).

A very easy project to do yourself (and save a good few bob), will take less than 1/2 hour. Work out the dia, cut rectangle of cloth, seam on three sides, turn inside out; done. As an added refinement you may like to make provision for a drawstring at the base.
