I've just tightened up mine to 225 ft/lb which was at the lower end of what I've seen recommended. They are 1 inch or so stainless bolts with substantial backing plates on a 39 footer. They must have been pretty close to that torque when installed as I could not get much on them except for one where I got half a turn maybe. I used a large, rented, 3/4 drive torque wrench for the job.
