Hello,
Had a look at the tie rod connecting the rudder stocks on my Nimbus today, lot of surface corrosion/pitting so I think that after 20 years of use I will replace this component on a 'time expired' basis. I would like to avoid a tie rod made in ordinary steel and wonder whether anyone knows who can supply one in stainless steel?. Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks for the reply HLB. No, the rudderstocks and rudders are also s/s so I should be o.k. The tie is attached at both ends by what I can only describe as a 'jointed bolt' passed through a rubber bush at both ends of the rudderstocks from underneath with securing nuts on top of the rudderstocks. I am assuming that the bushes are designed to allow for movement when using the steering.

Regards

Adrian

Go on to the Nimbus sight
The main Swedish one
Go to Spares and accessories and you can see individual parts listed and pictured
Rudders, connections etc
Or ring 'Anders' on + 46 31 7267714
Or 'Johan' on + 46 31 7267740

I,ve had parts from the for my old little Nimbus.
They even supplied the correct gel coat colour and mine is 1984!

At least you can determine exactly what materials were used on your Nimbus.
