Tidying up a very old cabin cruiser - what do you think?

top effort - im guessing sanding and re varnishing would be the easiest option?

I'm undergoing a similar effort on my dads boat of refixing/tidying up - just a matter of a bit at a time rather than take on the whole thing at once - good luck with your works :)

I'll try that first, but with the Cuprinol shades as advised above. I have a strong aversion to varnish after restoring my swim platform. Thought it would only be an afternoons work to sand the old varnish off and oil...

That would be good, always nice to see what other people have done :)
It's not just Blue in mine, it's a two position switch and two rows of LED's so if you throw the switch the other way, the Whites come on instead.
I'm really, really impressed with the Whites, lovely warm colour, nice and bright; they really make a difference. The Blues are a bit naff really!
 
Easiest thing to do - Change curtains for blue/white stripe which will then tie in with your white seats and cheer everything up. Ditch the brown shaggy cushions. Make cushion covers from the left over curtain fabric. The blue and white theme will certainly compliment the wood and you might find you won't need to cover so much to ease the 'brown fest'. I really wouldn't Cuprinol or paint. The finish is pants, especially on raised grain plywood. And you'll never get rid of it. Sand what you have and apply some LIGHT coats of satin varnish. Better still, cover some of the wood in off white vinyl and edge if needed with varnished or vinyl covered quadrant. Ebay has some bargain vinyl offcuts.
