I've just bought a nylon belt-type mast ladder and I need a bunch of sail slides for it (30-40 ish). It's a post 2006 Tides Marine track with slide dimensions here. Can anyone please point me at a place where I can buy compatible plastic slides? The ones it came with are too tight and I can't hoist the ladder up the track.

Thanks.

I have, within the last few years, bought plastic sail slides for Sew-Screw Ltd, and Sea-Sure Ltd.

You can also find them on eBay, just do a search of 'Sail slides' and you might find what you want.

Thanks for your reply but that’s not quite what I’m looking for. I’m pretty good at googling stuff but I’m specifically looking for sail slides that match the dimensions in the link I posted.

BTW, we’ve both been on this forum for about the same duration. You’ve posted about 50x more than me. Congrats. How the heck do you find the time?

I have a few of the stainless steel Tides Marine slides if they're any use.

7 posts/ day, a few moments each, say 20 minutes/day. It's easy to find that, especially if doing something else at the same time, eg waiting for the kettle to boil, sitting on a bus, having a crap, or whatever. It takes far less time than many spend doing crosswords, or watching TV.

I have a (2013) tidesmarine track that was fitted by my rigger in collaboration with Sanders sails who built new sails at the same time with the slides for the track obviously fitted. If in any doubt I’d suggest contacting Sanders who will be happy to help you even if not an existing customer and will get the specification right. This season I needed a new batten box for the main, I assumed it would be part of the tidesmarine system or allied to it but it turned out to be a bainbridge part. Sanders sourced it without difficulty. Give them a ring, they will be able to resolve this for you I’m sure.

Individual slides are available from Tides Marine. I was looking at their system a few days ago. I suspect they may be expensive.
Yes, they are, and they are costly. However from what the OP says they are not suitable for his application of adding a fabric based mast ladder which normally uses a plastic slug of completely different design. The question is whether there is a standard plastic slug that fits the Tides track. The dimensions of standard slugs are on the Bainbridge site I linked to so it should not be difficult to measure the Tides track for comparison. Tides have a jig for measuring existing tracks/slides so that you can order your track to be machined to fit your mast. Just a matter of doing the same thing in reverse use the jig to identify the section of the Tides track and find a slug to suit.
