spot on Vic. Just hope we get a decent weather window
It'll be interesting to know the results of your tidal calculations.
Now knowing what you are planning to do my rough estimate is that the distance from Plymouth breakwater to Les Hanois is about 77 n. miles so at 5 knots is going to take nearly 16 hours.
Given that you want to arrive at Les Hanois about 5 hours before HW St PP you'll need to leave the breakwater 21 hours before HW St PP.
Looking at the tidal atlas and just using mean rates I guesstimate a net tidal set of approx 6 n.miles south . This could cut a good part of an hour off the passage time.
So my final estimate is that your departure time, from the breakwater, will be between 20 and 21 hours before HW St PP ( on the day of arrival).
A bit earlier if its neap tides perhaps a little later if spring tides.
It all assumes a fair wind of course.. If the wind is anything from east, through SE, to south it all goes to pot!
How does that compare with your more precise estimate?
