Tide gribs

OpenCPN does have some tidal/current info in one of the add ons but don't know how good it is
There's tidal height data in opencpn , the most common data from wxtides I think, and a little current data if you can find it for diamonds around the channel.
This works very differently, the data is stored in a grib format, so you can have a look anywhere. No idea where the numbers come from or their accuracy but still very interesting.
I tried one in opencpn with the grib plugin, the data was in the box showing what was going on under the curser but no wind arrows.
Same file in zygrib was much better..

Weathertrack has tidal data as an add- on option. They use Tidetech. How good???

I used to work on hydrodynamic models like those tidetech seem to be using and I've had dealings in the past with some of the science and technical people now working at tidetech. At the time they were definitely working at the cutting edge in the field, developing new and accurate models for research purposes.
However it is difficult to tell from the tidetech website what software and data sources they are using. I expect they are using a developed and licensed modelling system rather than anything built in house and using open source bathymetric and boundary data (which is all fine) but what is less clear is the coverage they are running. Trying to work out solent tides from a model which covers a very wide area (all UK for example) would be a bad idea and the results would be fairly ****. Getting the best results means having nested models going down to high resolution for the area you really want the best accuracy for and I expect this si not what you're getting from that grib data. And I very much doubt any of their general products draws on met data so will not take account of the influence of wind and atmospheric pressure on currents.
So overall likely to be good but not as good as it could be if you were paying more for it!
