EA are forecasting a tidal surge for tonight [23:50] of 4.8m compared with a predicted 4.1.
At 4,1 the walkway is awash and the car park accommodating for ducks.

Should I panic, call the insurance company or go to bed and see what things are like?

That's nothing forecast is for 2.3m surge at Harwich. If as predicted the pontoons will be above the pile supports and all boats down at one end of the marina.

I've cleared misc junk from under the boat (which is ashore) on the assumption that anything left there will be floating off down the hamble about 1am tonight. Surge would have to be more than 3m to accidentally launch the boat a week early though...

Can't see "immersion time" for primocon on the spec sheet but I'm glad that it's that I put on this morning and not epoxy primer. I anticipate at least the bottom of the keel getting wet

Well the river ness flooded today just as they are about to finish new flood defences but after last night's superstorm. I am not at all surprised. We were woken at about 6.00 am when it sounded like a jumbo jet was about to land on our roof-the violent thunder added to the knock you over wind and the river moriston in full flood. The power went at about 6.30 to date then it began blizzarding in Inverness at about 15.30 and continues here in glenmoriston. The geni is on plus the big multi fuel stove so not too bad really.

Grangemouth got through the HW at 1620 relatively unscathed. We had prediction of 1m surge over 6m high water

River here in Stirling is very high having been held back by the tide for a while but I suspect flooding will be more around the river vs tide scenario rather than generally along the coast. Not sure what the predicted peak of the surge is. Will ii more likely coincide with next high tomorrow morning?

Interested to understand why you think there will be surge in the Hamble - surely the surge is only going to affect the North Sea coasts ( as that is where the Low Pressure is travelling and Storm Surge being focussed at the southern end of the North Sea ) - so why would the English Channel areas be affected ?

Or does anybody know different ?
