Fortunately springs at the moment are not the highest but that still puts it a metre up on the highest springs! Shutting the Barrier doesn't help. Seems to push up the heights outside. Might be interesting on the Strood tonight.

You ought to try the Severn Estuary between England and Wales. Tidal range there can be over 15 metres

Currently (22.50) nigh on HW Walton, 1.07 metres over prediction there. But the prediction is not the highest springs. Should put it over Coast Road here on the Island.

Earlier this evening, I spoke to my mum and my sister who both live in Heckington, Lincs. Whilst they are reasonably sure that it wont affect them so far inland, Fiona has got her wellies by the bed, and told her husband to get the rubber dinghy down from the loft.

They're just down the road a bit from me then , if it gets here I'll be very surprised , but yes , we have taken some precautions just in case , specially as the river is only a few yards away

At low tide Walton this morning the Tidal gauge was 2.7m... Predicted height from tables was 0.9m... So we can expect worse I think. Good job the pressure over the North Sea isn't horrendously low either (1016 off Norfolk)

Reading it alone and out of context, I think you are right. perhaps there should be a video on youtube aswell.

Anyway, I've heard nothing so am assuming all is fine, or that they are busy with the wellies and the dinghy, and calling me is not at the top of their list of priorities.
