Hello,

I am trying to find a way to buy the SHOM Tidal Stream atlas that covers Chenal de Four (560-UJA).

As I leave in about ten days time I'm concerned that buying online from France may result in the atlas turning up after I have left.

Any ideas? Or does anyone have one I could sneak a look at?

thx,
chris

Better to buy the Bloc Marine almanac 'Votre Livre De Bord which has all the tide data for almost every harbour as well as the tidal charts and much very useful information including harbour data and useable charts. I don't know if they have them this year but Piplers in Poole sold them, otherwise easily obtained in any French port chandlery.

However, Chenal De Four tides are pretty simple, the south going stream starts at HW Brest once inside the top of the funnel, at which time the Channel tide is still running fast eastwards along the north coast past L'Aberwrac'h. The north going tide in the Four starts of Pointe De St Mathieu about LW Brest.

I second that - I suspect it also covers all south coast UK ports and is wonderful value compared to the UK books for that area

All sorted now, thanks.

Re Bloc, bought a copy from seachest (plymouth) - what a book!! However the tidal streams are very small and the printing is a bit blurred so hard to read even with a magnifying glass. I did like the full coastal charts in it. Paper is a bit flimsy. Certainly worth buying.

Thanks for all the help,

regards
chris
