Having read a number of threads on tidal prediction programs, how accurate, how much use anyway, etc etc... I came across this tidal site which allows comparison between actual and predicted. Quite interesting, probably boring /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Interesting site. I'd like to be able to correlate this with observations of barometric pressure and wind speed and direction.

The differences seem to be down to local weather conditions which is informative in itself when you see >0.5m extra tide because of low pressure and strong onshore winds (as it was at Holyhead one day last week).

I’ve used Belfield tide plotter a fair bit to work out depth at low water when anchoring and find it incredibly accurate - but then I'm rarely anchoring in anything other than relatively benign conditions!
