One thing I've learn't is to draw up a table in pencil at the top of each tidal chart with a column for each day I will be in the area.. so if I was cruising for 5 days I'd have five columns and underneath it the time that chart applies to on that specific day..

That way you can quickly check up what the tide is doing or going to do at a particular time on a specific date.. effectively you are doing all your tide calcs in advance.. it is ofcourse something you can do in your lunch hour whilst at work well before the week / end

Re:Oban\'s location

yeah that's it.. there's a terrrible land - air battle going on with Saddams crack troops and the suicide bomers from Al Kiyadha (gave up on the spelling) in other words it's reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaally dangerous and unpleasent so keep away (cooorrrr never thought I'd be able to use Gulf War II to keep the boaty hoards away!)

Re:Oban\'s location

How much friendly fire are you experiencing? Inverness Town House has just been hit by a whooopeee cushion bomb!

Do you use Ken's Obans (underwater specs) as night vision googles?.. (funnily because Obans were designed to be used in incidences of high phosphoresence they work remarkably well as night vision googles;)

MacTavishes Kitchen is likely to be in the thick of things.
Don't you just love phosphoresence when you are having one of those long beery pees just before turning in!
