I keep my cockpit drains closed unless they are wanted.

It used to be thought by some that scupper drains led below the w/l were bad practice, but they do keep the topsides smart, I suppose.

WWII pilots were convinced their planes only ever broke down when they'd been serviced!

[/ QUOTE ]In the 80s when new technology was decimating telecom engineering jobs, there was a spoof staffing agreement for digital exchange maintenance:

One Engineer, and One Dog.

The engineer was there to feed the dog, and the dog was there to stop the engineer touching the new equipment.

Even that proved to be an optimistic forecast.

Cockpit drains / Two 4 inch ss pipe welded in, no seacock, but could probable swallow a small person.

3 316 stainless standpipes weleded to hull for thru hulls.

Well it is 3 now as outlet for heads and sink are now seperated (after the Headmistress said it must be so)

2 Outlet Seacocks, stainless steel, are 1.5 inch ball valves above waterline.

Inlet seacock has smaller (0.75 inch stainless steel ball valves on stainless steel standpipe)

Total 3
