Ok, so a core justification of diesel fuel duty is harmonisation, and as a carbon tax.

I spose that's the same as duty of fabs and boze, to deter usage too. And praps stamp duty stops people buying and selling too many houses as well.

So, what about income tax eh? Is that to stop people working?

I guess so, i have often heard people claiming benifits, say that they would be worse off they got a job once they have paid income tax.
