Thought i should introduce myself

Well as im new to this forum i thought i should introduce myself.

We bought our first boat about 6 months ago and decided on a Sealine S23. It is currently moored in Lincoln so the worst we have tackled has been the River Trent but we are hoping to get her out into the wash this summer to deal with some proper water.

Please be gentle with us even if we ask some silly questions.

Re Fenda socks

Some love them some hate them everyone thinks they know best and few agree.

However as it happens I used to spend a lot of time in the Trent, Torksey to Lincoln and I can safely say Fenda socks should not be used.

The fenda socks pick up mud from Torksey Lock sides and the mud will scratch your boat.

There is also a lot of dust on the sides at saxilby that will also create a sand paper ball on string !

Otherwise in an ideal world all will agree the fenda socks are essential in a Marina

Have just invested in some personalised fenders so i dont think we will cover them up just yet.
