The posh new moorings/landing stages just above Allington Lock belong to Allington Castle.
You will need to contact them regards booking.

Will get the number when up there over weekend and put it on forum.

The proposed new EA moorings should be built sometime in the near future.
Apologies for anybody hoping to use them who rang the lock staff.

I have no wish to pick holes in anything or anybody today - but would be nice if Oldgit could make sure he doesn't hand us bum info ! :D

OG will of course be supplying some bang up to date daguerreotypes the very second we get up there on Saturday.
As for duff info, you should be be well aware that 50% of all OGs info is total cack.
The difficult bit is working out which 50% !

That would be me lol. Steve said 'I don't know where people are getting the idea from that we've got new moorings'. From the boating forum I said, Freds trying (successfully) to drum you up some customers. Well I'm grateful, he replied, but they're not fitted yet!!

If you could get a number I'd be grateful as a couple of us are going up for new year.

Had a very nice email from Jonathan @ Allington Castle who advises the moorings are not for visiting boats. They are to be let on an annual lease at £225.00 per meter per year.
Water is included in the cost, Electric is separately metered.
This comes in at a costly £3600 pa for me so I'll stay put!
He doesn't mention the dreaded vat either which would imply they are residential.
