those connectors?

PM me an address and I will send you some of the BT connectors to try. Ones I have are made by 3M and are suitable for wire sizes from 0.3mm up. They are 3 way, so you can splice 3 cables into them if you wish.
I have used thes type of connectors for over 20 years (ex BT/Openreach jointer/field engineer) so know they work well as long as they aren't submersed. Worse type of connectors we used to have were the white or blue "beans" as they were known. A copper ferrule sheaved in a PVC insulation. Great connectivity, carp weather resistance!!

Those are for coax, we are not talking about coax here, but they are easily available in UK, I keep several in stock as they are effective and very quick and easy to use, on coax.

Can you link to a site? I've been trying to join two lengths of VHF cable and being utterly rubbish at soldering I'm not getting a good enough join.

Another vote for the Shakespeare PL-258-CP-G Gold Splice Connector. These are extremely simple to use and low profile, so will pass through holes not much bigger than the diameter of the co-ax.

They are also low loss and can be re-used.

Amazon UK market place currently has one in stock, but Google will probably find other UK sources.

Google 'Wago' connectors. Available from TLC. also easily reused.

I have had the Raymarine jelly connectors fail on a RIB where, obviously, vibration was an issue.

Wago are great also for LED lighting.

Just to update, I ordered some of these WAGO connectors as Jabs suggested. Brilliant! I've been waiting all my life to get rid of strip connectors.
