Turn the engine backwards by hand, no need to decompress or remove any injectors or anything. If it goes 2 full turns, just start it up.I would pull the injectors and bar over by hand whilst observing the injector holes to see if any water comes out.
Backwards or forwards will make no difference. If it has water in the cylinder then it will hydro lock. As it happens I am pretty certain that the water pump will have prevented the anti freeze from going past, and so none to the exhaust water trap to back up to the cylinders.T

Turning the engine over does not generate enough pressure in the majority of cases to expel the water from the waterlock, the engine needs to be running, thats why the advice when the engine wont start is to shut the water inlet off to prevent the water lock filling and feeding back to the cylindersWas the engine running and the intake valve closed when you did that? There is no reason why the water should get into the engine as all you have done is fill the seawater circuit with AF. No different from leaving it full of seawater.
Suggest you keep the intake valve closed, remove the lid of the strainer so that you can add extra water from a bucket and turn the engine over. This will expel the AF and replace with fresh water. Best to do this on the hard so that you can collect the AF and dispose of it rather than pumping it into the sea.
He hasnt said it is seizedEngines have been known to seize for other reasons
it may be OP has incorrect diagnosis

I know, but it will pump it out of the engine into the exhaust elbow and waterlock if the exhaust is connected.Turning the engine over does not generate enough pressure in the majority of cases to expel the water from the waterlock, the engine needs to be running, thats why the advice when the engine wont start is to shut the water inlet off to prevent the water lock filling and feeding back to the cylinders
Why is it that when I misread or misunderstand a post and answer what was not said is there not a retraction button or stop digging option ?
