Sorry chaps, away this week and in a different time zone so I've been working all evening and now its time to go to bed rather than post up the NtM. I hope I get do it tomorrow night. But in the meantime:

Not much this week. Removal of AIS from Ordford Ness Lighthouse is in UKHO notices in confirmation of Trinity House notice last week and there are a couple of obstructions in Dutch waters but at depth so they won't affect us.

So in conclusion a virtual pint if anyone can guess where I am. Clues:

I am south and east of you all
The place is warm/hot
The local craft have a lateen rig
I am inland of a big Delta

That was qucik. Cairo to be exact. I shall never complain about driving in the UK ever again! It is unbelievable

Son in law is Egyptian from Cairo, the traffic is indeed unbelievable and scary but I love the place. When he and daughter number 2 lived in Cairo he drove us round everywhere and said there is only one rule being that the car in front (if only by an inch) has the right of way. When you see five lanes of fast moving traffic on 3 marked lanes on the flyover next to Ramses Station it can be sphincter tightening :D

I have sailed a felucca on the Nile and S I L persuaded the local guy to let me steer - absolutely amazing experiience sailing through the outskirts on a hot evening.

Off to Sharm next month to see daughter no.1 who still lives there.

Oh and thanks for the notices TG :)

Ramses Station - yeap passed there yesterday. Your description is spot on. Words cannot describe the driving. But the buzz is good and the people friendly - oh and the sun is shining this morning and not a cloud in the sky. A fishing skiff has just trolled upstream dragging a net while on the other side a couple of small passenger vessels are heading upstream - the 4 x 4 has arrived - time for the morning commute!

Sorry about the delay.
