Popped out onto the Thames friday evening after having passed 6 cruisers heading upstream on the kennet above Fobney some of em wide ones ....must have been lost methinks lol ,Anyways moored up on the far end of the promenade section a spot you normally see some little owls in the evening for anyone interested in all things ornathology and watched the opening ceremony with a few vinos very chilled we were .
Awoke Saturday and headed upstream for Goring where a big cruiser had just pulled of the wall ,thats handy said i and droped into the space result....walked over the bridge to meet some friends for a meal at the Bull [really good and cheap to] then walked back over bridge to boat and walked the hounds down to the grass bit at the end of the wall where whilst i had a chat with a fisherman 2 middle aged couple returned to there day boat moored on the grass bit there a bit mullered ,One of the ladies had fallen in earlier and they were all bladered what to do time.....you say anything and your gonna get abuse and they were not small guys...we let em get on with it and they shot off downstream think they may have even come from the newish house just downstream?? anyways no bodies floating this morning so they must of made it .
Cruised back in sunshine today till just after the Oracle where as soon as we got into County lock it lashed down ,ten minutes later it`s sunshine again...gortex on and gortex off time .
Great weekend caught a few fish had some great beer met some nice peeps boating gotta love it,hope it`s sunny next weekend to .
My dogs realy hate the boaty thing
