This month's expert on board videos

Re: This month\'s expert on board videos

I must wish more often! Well done and many thanks. I'll be off to buy the mag tomorrow!

(I agree that earlier comments were not all 100% supportive but they have obviously been taken in the way they were meant - as constructive criticism. A considerable effort has been made to address the points raised and, IMO, a higher standard of product has resulted.)

Excellent Graham. That is crystal clear. Well done! I don't often get crosswinds in my little creek, but the demo was very effective. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Hi,

After reading this thread here are a few things you could try.

1. Throw the camera overboard - this will speed up its replacement.

2. Write a script and a storyboard

3. Hand the production over to a group of yr7 ICT students

Re: This month\'s expert on board videos

Ignoring the technical issues with the camera (mike and lens) I think the video work on all three was acceptable. The content interesting and well put across. Adding the diagrams in the 3rd video was very helpful.
But, why choose a boat that 'handles sweetly'? It would be more meaningful to demonstrate the correct technique in something like my Jag which turns in its own length to Starboard and not at all to port.

Re: This month\'s expert on board videos

I have been thinking about this.
Hence I am bending my flexible rule of never posting twice on the same topic.
I like the informal, unscriped nature of the videos. Do keep them coming.
You could phrigg about all day with story boards and camera angles, please don't. It would add nothing and detract from the amount of useful stuff you can get done.
A library if these shorts would build up to an excellent resource.
