I am wondering how "different" this forum would have been if we were communicating by "voice" only rather than by "writing" as we do at present, So, all the threads and posts would be by "voice" in a systematic fashion like a verbal "twitter".
I am trying to visualize the characters who at present are hiding behind a keyboard, as the "voice" will reduce the current anonymity and provide more exposure and reality. The "anchor" topics would be lively, the "varnish wood" would be boring, the "Brexit" topics would be colourful and many would be sitting in silence and embarrassment of the current mess, the "electrical" topics would be very useful and the "sailing techniques" would be great.

What's all this about anonymity - some of us don't feel that need and have not suffered from being honest and up front. :)

No-one would understand the educated Scots (accents). But at least we would not need to suffer the appalling spelling errors.

And those of us in the lucky country and places nearby would speak into the ether - and have no immediate response - as most of the members would be worn out and in bed.

Well said, Jonathan; unlike some others who hide behind cover names such as "Captain Fantastic" :D:D(y)(y)

I would not be subscribed, for a start. You-all are at liberty to consider that an improvement. I think that writing generally being slower to produce than speech but faster to consume is exactly the write (sic) way round!

I can just imagine all the "radio check" calls if a contributor doesn't get an immediate response to a query or comment......

Scone (as in John) here too, not scone (as in Joan) or scone (as in June) - I put the cream on first, then jam!
