Thank you everyone. I am sure I (we) will sort it out. Really surprised that THEFT insurance is not offered on it's own or attached to 3rd party. I'm probably paranoid. Having just retired, my boat is going to be my home for a number of years . . . and it worries me that it could happen that after going inland for a while, upon my return, my boat (home) has been stolen.
I'll follow up on the suggestions online this evening and phone on Monday.

Boat insurance is very cheap because the risks are so low - and that includes theft. You will have to list all your electronics separately to get cover and you will probably find there are limitations on the amount payable in the unlikely event of theft.
You do not say where you are going to sail, but if you intend going outside normal coastal waters you may well find it very difficult to get anything more that third party with a low value, old boat without a survey.
The suggestion to talk to Barry Sullivan of Y Insurance is a good one.
