....is this a sensible route for a ferry - Brittany Ferries, Pont Aven - Santander to Plymouth?? Speed down from 22kts to 12kts, then back up to 22kts.
Thinking of Costa Concordia.......

It was no problem in a Westerly Berwick. Tides run pretty fast though!

We did that trip on that boat a couple of years ago, on our way back from the Dominican Republic during the ash cloud fiasco. It was a perfect ferry trip and, incidentally, not a bad boat.

It is funny you voice this because about 4 weeks ago we sailed the exact route at 9 knots. It is ansafe route and they have been doing it for years.

Yes, so I have now noticed. Cotentin, is on her way to Santander, and looks to be going the same way.
At least they are slowing down and not rock-hopping!

Look at the track of Cap Finistere?
I was concerned when I went that way to Camaret!
It is very interesting to see these passenger vessels tracks, as it gives a good indication of the "water" available.
I wonder how much time it shaves off their passage time?
