Thinking of a step too far

It’s a Honda. The older carb version.

The problem with power is that you always want more - said some crazy people once said.

I have wondered what an 80 or 90 might be like for fuel economy and revs. Other owners have fitted a 115. I’m a member of the Hardy owners group where they have posted fuel economy over the years with various hulls and engines/outboards.

I can be doing on a fairly calm day in the North Sea the 19-20 knots with outboard revs indicated 5.5~5.8, close to over revving perhaps. That’s just with me on board

I have happened to shift my weight and noticed the revs and speed rise a fraction so I would say with some more bow weight or tabs the top end speed might rise and the revs drop with some more weight forward.

If not going full send the boat will semi D ‘plane’ at 4800 approx speed 14 knots quite comfy.

I’d say the 75 is well matched for the boat.
With the family Pilot 20 some people have put a 100/150litre V shaped flexible water tank in the under seat storage at the bow, they have said it really helps with keeping the bow down and getting a more economical cruise from the boat.
The ones we looked at had those tanks and no trim tabs.

Thanks for that . I've narrowed the search down to a Hardy and a Orkney.
