thinking about selling Moomo

For over ten years i have been "helping" people thinking about maybe selling their boat, and now it's my turn to ask hum, what's the best way to sell a 50ft catamaran, alliaura privilege 495 owners version, currently in St Martin in the caribee but could be moved to gib in june. And should it be pruiced at about 350k GBP hm or what?

Is this the what ultimately became of Jeantot Privelege catamarans? She does look quite similar. I delivered a few of them on the East Coast of the States and down to the BVI's back in the 1990's; I quite liked them.
Back then that was for Catamaran Charters who are still on the go as The Catamaran Company out of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Annapolis, MD. They're pretty much the No. 1 company in the USA dealing with both new and brokerage cats....if you've been based down in St. Maarten it's hard to believe you haven't already come across them so maybe you have a reason to not want to approach them!
If not they'd definitely be worth a call. I have absolutely no connection with them at all any more, I very much doubt they even know I exist or if any of the same people are still there - your post just brought back some good memories of more youthful times!

Yup, but this may be advertised as asset - rich yachtsmen will not necessarily think of material fatigue :cool: at 350 she'll be cheapest on market, not that I study the market... deleted this post as might be stupid :D

I guess if the flag and documents are all in order just get the boat deep cleaned and uncluttered and pick a lively hurricane free location, airport and specific broker ..
At least if people fly in they won't kick tyres

What does one do having lapped the planet? Go back to work, swallow some tropical anchor, do it all again bigger faster lighter? Best of luck, hugely enjoyable blogettes...
 
I suspect you know a great deal more about the proccess than me.
I don't think you will manage to sell it to a nice chap at the pub. Unless your pub is very different to mine.
I would start by finding a broker I like and trust who knows the type of boat and market who coud give me a realistic idea of price to ask and expect to get.
I don't know any to recomend or I would.
If you don't know a broker try ask for recommendations from happy former owners or new owners here.

The best way to sell anything is with a SEX angle. I'm serious about this. On your next transatlantic get some fabulous cheesecake for crew. Spread lakesailor like photos on every blog page. Start now interviewing possible crew while at anchor. Blog the search with the photographs and invite reader participation in your final choice. By the time the delivery to Gib starts Mojomo will reach peak fame. By the time the boat arrives in Gib it will have been sold. Assuming you can post pickies at sea.

Dont forget that same sex marriage is legal so include some he-man six-pack examples. Spread the appeal as wide as you can.
