Some friends of ours have bought themselves a rather nice Lagoon 380 to live on. They saw the boat in Greece and had it delivered to Estepona, Spain.

They asked me to help them bring the boat down here to Lanzarote in the New Year. Good one. So I got my cousin who is an up and coming sailor to fly over and join us for the trip. We have settled on the 4th of January to meet aboard and weather permitting, get going next day. Its a trip I'm familiar with and am quite happy with their limited experiences. Will goto Gib on first day for bunkers. Anchor overnight in La Linea and get going first light to pass through Straits. They will love it.

They have used their time in Estepona wisely. Swapped phone calls and texts to prep yacht. Good to go, they aren't shy in spending. Happiness all round.

Except the flight I'm booked on on the 4th is with Vueling. All that group of airlines ground staff are going on strike 4th to 7th. Grr. This the second time I've been caught in the last few weeks. So trying to change flight which was at a pleasant mid morning direct to Malaga. Now got to get 0700 flight to Barcelona then back to Malaga. Double grr.

So passage planning hiccups can arrive from unexpected places. Yachting often involves expecting the unexpected, but that unexpected one is a new one on me....
