Went to Oxford by train today for the River Thames Alliance Conference/AGM.

The train journey was a little eventful due to storm damage delays etc but I found it interesting on the Reading to Oxford stretch to see so many views of the river which is definitely not a happy place at the moment. In particular, I didn't realise how many boats are moored in Purley Gardens Marina - the narrow entrance from the river hides a significantly larger marina than one might expect! Significant flooding in evidence for much of the trip and more rain was lashing down as we arrived at Oxford which continued into the afternoon so even more water to deal with.

Sorry, no pics as for once I didn't have a camera with me.

Did you see lots of boats on riverside moorings left by brain dead irresponsible stupid boat owners?

So where are they supposed to move them to,marinas simply unable to take the sheer number of boats needing shelter.?
The scale of the problem caught most by suprise and probably far to dangerous to move boat to "safety" even if you can get to your boat without risking life and limb ?
