Things that cause crew arguments

I think ours is always the anchor chain. SWIMBO in charge of anchor likes to assess the depth, weather conditions and surrounding boats to deploy the optimum length of chain to suit the prevailing conditions. I like to put out all 50 mts irrespective :-). This causes no ends of debates when we drag (her fault) or we collide with another boat (for some reason blamed on me!)
 
I'm on the side of your wife.

Amount of chain let out should depend on depth and conditions (wind/tide). If everyone in an anchorage did that there would be fewer instances of boats getting too close to each other (especially in an area affected by tide when it turns).
 
Never argue with the skipper - he (she) sets the length to be used
Usual argument onboard is who was the last one to use the corkscrew and WTF did they put it! - It got so bad I took to carrying my old faithful SA knife AND keeping a spare in the nav table drawer hidden behind the chart magnifier.
 
Putting things away (or rather not doing so) is my pet peeve, lost 2 decent leatherman tools last season!

Role reversal idea.. Seamanstaines, you can play with sails, anchors and suchlike whilst I spin the wheel :) good luck when the anchor winch jams again in a storm, bet that extra chain isn't feeling so good?? Hehe :)

' Prevailing ', there's a word with little currency when it starts to blow up in the night and there are too many parked all on short leashes .

The only answer for marital harmony of course is to selflessly volunteer in the middle of the night to pop on deck and singlehand up and out to a place where you can bung a decent length of chain out , or use one of them thar newfangled anchors that cope with a 1:2 scope and reset n all..
 
Anchor alarm at stupid o'clock, know it well. Despite knowing I'd be a wealthy widow I kinda like him so prefer to be on deck and do it myself especially when it's rough.
The Med is unpredictable at the moment, scope of 5:1 but here she blows and we're a dragging..
 
Never had that problem. 5:1 to get it dug in properly (three knots or more reverse against it), then shorten to 3:1 in normal conditions (mainly Eastern Med) if other boats about.

I can only think of one disagreement on a boat. Her nav mistake wasted an hour or so, and because I was generally wound up, and because I should have noticed that we had sailed past where we wanted to be, words were had. Pathetic really. She really was a very good SW in most ways.
