Arrived today at the Eastern end of the Looe channel to find thick fog! Went South of the Owers and arrived at Portsmouth to find vis down to 100-200m. Thank heavens for GPS. Got up tp Wicormarine at Fareham and the sun has come out! Thoroughly recommend this place, just like Pin Mill, even houseboats and the management couldn't be more helpful. Its also half the price of a fancy marina in Gosport.;)

Sounds like my trip west 2 years ago...emerged from the Looe Channel after 2 glorious days sailing from Ipswich into rain gloom and murk, never made it to Plymouth but spent the following week in Gosport and apart from one trip to Cowes ended up on ferries and trains to see the area.
Wingdiver will have a similar experience because Gosport is where they were holed up as well !!

Left the boat at Fareham yesterday in a near gale! Thoroughly horrid and made us realise why we like being on a swinging mooring rather than a pontoon.
It was a really odd experience seeing Horse Sand Fort suddenly appear out of the gloom less than 200m away.

Maybe just me......

Oh carp, jut when I thought it had worked. I still don't really know what I'm doing with this picture business. Can anyone enlighten me? The link works for me.
