They cannot be serious can they ?

Too Many Laws, Not Enough Justice

The simple fact is that our "legal" system is just that, it's not a justice system any more.
It's run by, and for the sole benefit of the interested parties involved i.e. the solicitors, barristers, judges, and politicians who just perpetuate the moneymaking merry-go-round for their own ends. Any thought, or outcome which benefits the victim is entirely co-incidental; victims are necessary in order to have a nice expensive process to follow.

Every time anything goes wrong the politicians just make yet another law to add to the thousands of volumes already in existence; no wonder the police get confused. Armies of fancy legal experts then have to be employed to interpret, reassess and quote legal speak which then has to be re-interpreted into English. See what I mean about a gravy train? Where is the victim in all of this? Not even mentioned; a by-product, an afterthought, very much secondary to the core issue, the thing that really matters: our fabulous legal profession.

What's needed is a complete re-think from scratch, based on certain key principles and aims. The we might start to get a justice system with justice and victims rights at the heart of it.

Rant over, I feel better now:)

Well said - totally agree

Attn.....Barrack room lawyers a fact or three.....

"Its totally insane and we allow the government to get away with it!!!"

"The social food chain has been completely inverted with the amoeba having more rights then the intelligent, law abiding workers."

i wouldn't think twice about shooting them if i was defending my family.

"The simple fact is that our "legal" system is just that, it's not a justice system any more."

Some miserable facts.:)

The Independant 12/01/2010.

Hertford police said today
(Officers spoke to reassure the home owner, talked through security and gave advice in relation to the importance of reporting suspicious activity immediately to allow officers to act appropiately).....At no time were any official warnings given to the home owner in relation to the use of a knife........

The ....."agent"........of the lady concerned, a television presenter, was apparently involved in the release of this fine upstanding tale which was of course swallowed hook line and anchor by the usual newspapers. Why let a bit of research get in the way of good rant .

My understanding is that if you genuinely fear for your life you may use any means to defend yourself.

So when you find that scrote in your house, just remember, you were certain he had a knife/gun and that you thought he was going to kill you.
If it turns out later that he was unarmed, it doesn't alter the fact that you thought he was about to take your life.

Then stab the ******* and stick to your story.

Out of those who make the laws, those who have to interpret the laws to enforce them and those who report enforcement and breaches of laws to the public (i.e.the media): I know who ranks at the bottom of the miserable pile in my book.

After all, if the reporter stated that" some scrote was trespassing in a ladies back garden, she waved a knife through the window then he ran off" no one would have been interested.

Down here in the deep country (Sussex), we have become used to slow police responses to 999 calls. After all, the only police on duty at night within ten miles are the occasional traffic cops on the A3. So we have a local assumption that the only way to elicit a quick police response in the unhappy event of a homeowner disturbing intruders would be to say on the phone that you are about to step downstairs with the shotgun and blast the burglars to bits. And then ring off quickly.

I used to live in a remote part of darkest Kent, the nearest Police station was 2 miles away but it was an abandoned building, the next nearest was 20 miles and all back roads.

The Police response was rarely swift, regardless of implied urgency. It even got to the stage where Officers were reluctant to deal with things because they knew back up was so far away. Eventually a locals law tends to form, nature abhors a vacuum after all.

I did hear of a case, supposedly true where a bloke rang the police to report that his shed was being broken in to and the purbetrators were still there.

The police replied that they had no one available.

He rang back again and said "dont bother, I've just shot them".

Within seconds, an armed response unit arrived and actually caught the burglers but complained to him "I thought you said you'd shot them".

He replied "I thought you said, you had no one available"

Home invasion of any kind is a disturbing thought, and retaliation/self defense in whatever form would be expected by the home owner/protector of the family.
These events would most probably occur during the early hours of the morning, when most of us would be in a very deep sleep.
Those that visit the bathroom during the night would be familiar with the state of consciousness you would most likely be in.
To take on an intruder or two, is not going to be easy work, as they will have a definite advantage, just being fully awake.
Be careful when choosing a weapon, because if you hesitate to use it, it has an awful habit of being used on you instead.
