Thermostats & calorifiers etc.

I''m amazed that people here say they they have never had a thermostat in a calorifier or a home water heater. They come a standard if they can be powerd by 240 volts, if they didn't have one the water would boil. I can undestand that one wouldn't be needed if the only heat source is engine water because the engine has a thermostat. Perhaps that was what was meant

Sorry about the 70C for Legionnaires disease it is indeed 77C.

I think people are saying that with an electric immersion heater the thermostat is built into the heating element and with indirect hot water coil heating the hot water supply can only get as hot as the engine / domestic boiler. In my domestic system I also have a separate thermostat which I can set below boiler temperature but not all system have this.
