Suddenly the place is alive, every other boat has a sander or paint brush under it. Judging by the number who are dry sanding with a little paper mask for protection, the dangers must be overstated. Great to see so many about, in a couple if weeks time the cranes will be working full time at weekends and the river will be crowded with boats going down to the moorings, feels almost like a season about to start...
 
I was busy in the yard too!

Jet washed the old antifoul (if that dosen't shift it, it can be painted over in my book)
Installed the new heads and plumbed in. (That short sentence translates into a lot of work)
Grinding paste on the outlet seacock, reseated nicely and greased in (feels like new if I had ever felt a new one)
Filled the stern tube greaser and other seacocks whilst about it.
Boiled kettle to warm hands many times...

Launch date set - 7 May! yippee! Two warm/dry days between now and then is all I ask......

It would interesting to hear how the trip went, especially what the entrance at Shingle Street is like after all these easterly gales.

Our youngest son was at Southwold with his family last Thursday and he said the swell was amazing, and the breaking waves were throwing spray against the underside of the pier!!

I would imagine that all the shingle banks on the coast will have moved around this winter.
