'The World's Most Favourite Yottie Bar'....?

Rodger's Barefoot Bar Hog Island Grenada is the winner for me. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rogers-Barefoot-Beach-Bar/279452722107143

Opening time? Well when Roger gets there. Closing time? When the last drinker gets back into their dink and wobbles off home.

No charterers telling stories of death defying sails from Trellis Bay to Jost Van Dyke.

There have been nights when more than half the congregation have circumnavigated.

It is JUST possible to get there on foot but most nights everybody arrives in their dink.

Roger's would get my vote too, he organised a great lobster BBQ lunch for me and my mates.

Roger is quite interesting when he can be persuaded to discuss the political history of Grenada.

It has to be Willie Ts in the BVI.

I with Captain and guests got so so tipsy and soaking wet on my weekend visit to the floating bar.

I recall a ride that was set up aith two catamarans with a line between them at near top spreader height with a
Block in the middle. a ski handle on one side and a rib on the other.

Dangerous and crazy is an understatement.

We all survived but heard some poor bugger broke his elbow because he didnt let go when most would.

If I could just put in a plug for the Bay of Many Coves Resort in the Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand? Not a pub as such, but they will sell you pretty much any sort of alcohol known to man, plus they have a nice restaurant. And, more importantly, they maintain a number of moorings to which you can tie up, and a tender to come and fetch you from your boat and carry you home afterwards.

Leaving aside the superb scenery that surrounds you on all sides. Hell no, the scenery is worth a mention on its own!2015-02-24 13.55.15.jpg2015-02-24 14.13.46.jpg

>Foxy's is great, but not really a "yottie bar".

That would be why the bay is full of anchored yachts who can be seen going ashore to Foxy's. If you want to go his New Year's Eve party you have to arrive and anchor three days before. You can only get to Foxy's by boat, some tourists do come up from St John by boat but over 95% of visitor are yachties. We have been there dozens of times while chartering and liveaboard.

Or there's this one:-

+1. Here's an evening view of the scenery from the bar. I'm also a fan of Peter's Café Sport (Azores) where SWMBO played a gig.

I'll agree with that.

Nah- when I was there last summer it was full of tourists being sold the idea that it was the best yottie bar in the world, while us real yotties were watching the football in the off-shoot bar nearer the boats, swapping our pots of paint for the wall.

Agree!! Luckily (for me) Pete's Pub is within 20 minutes drive from my house - or an hour by boat. The food is great; the rum blasters even greater  I wince, though, every time I deposit my 'gratuity' (was going to say "tip" - but in this context it could be mis-construed) by stuffing it in the end of a porcelain penis sitting on the bar!!! :ambivalence:
