Good taste in boats - poor taste in hats! ?
I've had my hat for 20 years and more. You cant just buy a hat like that off the shelf. You need to wear them in.

I completely agree that improving a boat is part of the experience - we have done something to improve all of our boats. I find that man maths quite clearly demonstrates that what we have spent on them has been a very sound investment!
We actually sold the Targa about 9 years ago and then had a Broom 41. The Broom was a fantastic floating apartment and a great sea boat but oddly enough we have found the move back to a sportscruiser to be quite refreshing - very easy to use and closer to the water - more in touch if that makes sense?
Our ‘investment’ in the S34 has been complete new suite of electronics, a bespoke carbon fibre dash, new canopy and new cockpit upholstery. Some pics in the advert in the link below (not highlighting it is for sale - we have adapted our thinking to keeping it in the current climate - just convenient to see the pics)![]()

I put it in the same bucket as drinking good ale in lovely pubs - great investment
You have a respectable CV of boats there.
I love the S34, a fine boat. Loved the John Boyle series of round the UK. I was lost for a few days when I had watched them all!
Yes, if you can afford to hang onto it then it is a lovely burden to enjoy. Where are you located?
It must me hand made , plus’s the amount of material use have been colossal.I've had my hat for 20 years and more. You cant just buy a hat like that off the shelf. You need to wear them in.
