Currently in Dieppe and it's lashing it down. Fortunately we had just returned from our baguette run, so all is right with the world.
Glad I am at home: had planned a weekend away on the boat but opted just for a day sail yesterday, would have bee annoyed if Bertha had fizzle out!
We went to the Cowes fireworks on Friday (which was very wet, unforecast),
Wind only just starting here, rain came at 17.00
Rafted up with much string and all fenders out, even the ones from the locker bottom that NEVER get used...
Eyemouth expecting probs with surge at nearly springs early morning, sandbags much in evidence.
Pontoon guides extend 1m over quayside, should be fine
Will do- posting on http://britainbyrivendell.weebly.comtake snaps if you can
I love eyemouth
I was collected at 6am yesterday from the slipway by a skipper who had spent the night onboard. After a bouncy, and rather wet, 1/2 mile ride out to his boat we had a hearty breakfast and spend the morning in a F7 on an ebbing spring tide practicing pontoon bashing. The afternoon was spent moving Camelia back onto her mooring. Nobody else out on the water apart from a member of the club checking we were not doing too much damage to the shiny new pontoon. The weather was a wee bit different on the Exe.Here in Sunny South Devon it's currently SUNNY with some blue sky, dry & SW C. 10knots![]()
so..... what happened then? D
rainy and windy here in the midlands
rain kicked in at about three
not really quit since
Moray Firth is sunny apparently - one of the best places to sail I have been to on the journey so far
D
sorry lads
these are deeply disturbing reports
I want pictures, I want the use of the words crashing, frapping and blast
All defrapped I'm afraid- but if you want to see sandbags, a beached pontoon, a listing ketch AND the scariest ice cream in Eyemouth...
