Its been blowing & whistling for half an hour, but now the wet stuff has just kicked in. Seems to be building, showing F7 on Chimet atm. No 1 dog has rolled over & gone back to sleep. I could surprise him and drag him off to East Head, but my waterproofs are on the boat.

Same here. We'd planned to spend the night aboard with our 6 month old boy but chickened out and went home at the end of yesterday. Couldn't find a reliable forecast - they all seemed to disagree with each other.

Even Simon reckoned it was going to be hard to predict which way it would track/break. Still the garden needs this rain, and we haven't any real plans this year.

Cancelled this weekend's club rally when the inshore forecast gave F6 - 8 for last night and F7 - 9 for this morning. (Many of the boats are 19 to 23 foot) We would have been on our way home now but so far at Bramblemet it's a F5 with some big gusts on top.

On the Classic + 100 Ride London cycle event the organisers have cut out from the route the sections up Leith Hill & Box Hill owing to the forecast. There are a lot of unhappy cyclists who were looking forward to those sections.

Wet and windy here in Kent. Yesterday decided not to go sailing singlehanded, but do some much needed ropework. Forget how many splices and whippings I did, but my fingers are feeling it this morning.

The rain started just before 1am and I am just about to walk my dog, who does not care what the weather is doing. Sorry to hear the Classic + 100 Ride London cycle event has been altered as a Radio Kent presenter is taking part and I was looking forward to hearing about his experience in the event.

It was worse here on Wednesday.

And Friday night. Woke up at 1am to find a half inch of water covering the floorboards. That'll teach me to leave the companionway hatch open at night...

My daughter is on it. I suspect she'll be secretly relieved not to be screaming down the Surrey Hills in the pouring rain, in company with many thousand testosterone-fuelled MAMILs, trying to beat the "wee girlie". Nothing wetter than a wet cyclist.

In sunny Kingswear. Not too bad now. About 2 inches of water in the dinghy this morning but sun has dried that off beautifully.

Wind is constant 15-20 knots have seen 27 knot gust but most gusts in the 22-25 knot region. Thinking of wandering down to Kingswear castle/froward point to see the sea.

Big gusts and sunshine here in North Dorset. We thought the rain had gone and were sat with the conservatory doors open when a squall came through which caused a panic.

Still, I've got my accounts up to date and made my VAT payment, always a weight off my mind.

I was thinking of going to the golf course later but I don't even fancy that in this wind.
