I've decided this year to record the reaction I get, from other mobos, in resonse to a friendly wave.
My first results refer to a group of 4 boats that arrived at Salcombe in convoy yesterday pm as I was departing.
1st boat - Windy 33/34ft - waved back.
2nd boat - Phantom 42 - ignored.
3rd boat - ? small flybridge - Galeon? - ignored.
4th boat - Princess 42ft ish - ignored.

This proves that only Scandinavian boats have friendly crews.

Huh! Maybe you're not waving properly... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Would you wave back at a Royal wave?

Nice idea though, how are you going to record your results?

In a special log book, the results to be reported in MBM in the Autumn.

Categorized by make of boat : model of boat(if poss) : no.of people on flybridge : newness of waterproofs being worn : helmsperson with or without beard : colour of ensign.

I welcome any other vital statistics that you may feel should be entered.

Cheers Brendon,

You seem well informed, I've still got the hat thanks to the Solitaire clip!

Do you think she would like nice as my avater?

Or this one, she does have a nice WAVE ! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have a feeling I know this group, very friendly but probably just made it to the west country after long haul from east of the solent, I am sure they were only thinking about getting tied up and having a well earned beer /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Pah !! That's no excuse - E. of the Solent to Salcombe - a long haul in boats that size, especially as the seastate was no more than slight? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

S'pose I'll have to enter a rider as to them being allegedly friendly now though - damn.

No excuse for the rest... we are the "frendly" Windy! The Phamtom, Princess, and Galeon where first time Sacalombe visitors so maybe where just overcome with the views to notice.... Or maybe just to high up on there flybriges to see. Enter them as old f%$ts
