I seem to recall there's an old nursery rhyme about it. Think it begins:

Jack Fat could eat no sprat
His wife could eat no greens....

anyone remember?

We used to crab fish in mid channel (english) during the summer months, forty fathom plus and lobster inshore during the winter. As close in as we could possibly go. It was once suggested that we bait the pots with lettuce to catch a few bush conger as the pots were high and dry at low tide!
